Abstract

Like what happened in the urban section, the integration of new information technologies applied in the agriculture have been quickly. In function of that, in this paper were presented and discussed some tendencies of information technology applied in the brazzilian agriculture, with the focus on the management information systems. As final considerations, it was perceived that these systems will still permeate the information technologies through applications in: software packages, agricultural ERP, animal and vegetable products traceability, weather information, nets (internet, portals and web services); cooperatives, technical support and rural extension, precision agriculture, precision zoothecnics, and in the Distance Teaching. Although still exist limitations, mainly because information technologies are in phase of experimentations in the productive chains, the existent demands for develop actions close to the farmers, the creation of knowledge structuring groups, the standardization of information exchange, the development of partnerships, and the promotion of brazilian technicians participation in definition of metadatas patterns to be used globally, are solutions that can render those tendencies.
