Abstract
Food security is fundamental for achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as it is primarily linked to SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and also intersects with other goals. By unraveling trends in publications on food security within the SDGs framework, combining bibliometric methods and BERTopic modeling, this study provides an analysis of existing literature and aims to offer valuable insights to guide future research and contribute to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda. In this paper, a total of 2593 scholarly articles from the Web of Science core collection are analyzed based on key bibliometric aspects, including publication trends, contributing countries, collaborative networks, journals, research categories, and representative works. Using BERTopic modeling, it identifies 20 thematic research topics through publications and examines their distribution and evolution. The findings reveal that current research mainly focuses on environmental and technological dimensions rather than socio‐economic aspects, and recent studies have increasingly concentrated on the impact of COVID‐19 on food security and the utilization of emerging resources and technologies, reflecting the evolving trajectory of food security research within the SDGs framework. It also underscores the decline in the participation of developed countries in food security governance, while developing countries' output has increased but still has potential in cooperation. Therefore, this study underlines the critical need for a multidisciplinary approach to food security research, integrating socio‐economic and environmental technologies, and highlights the importance of collaborative efforts from both developed and developing countries to address food security challenges, thereby contributing effectively to the 2030 Agenda.
