Abstract

The article examines how organizational wisdom influences innovation in museums and explores the role of organizational capacity in this relationship. The study employs a cross-sectional survey design, capturing data at a single point to analyze the mediating effect within a specific timeframe. Researchers gathered data using the computer-assisted web interview method, and validated scales were applied to measure the variables. The survey included a random, representative sample of 200 museums listed in the National Register of Museums in Poland. The analysis used factor analysis (exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis) and structural equation modeling (SEM) to evaluate the data. SEM enabled a precise examination of the mediation effect by addressing measurement errors and assessing how well the mediation model aligned with the data. A bootstrap analysis further confirmed the mediation effect’s significance. The findings clarified how organizational wisdom impacts innova-tions, revealing a chain of relationships: organizational wisdom influences organizational capacity, which drives innovations. This holds significant practical implications in helping us understand how employee knowledge transforms into effective solutions for organizational challenges.
