A válság hatása a magyarországi bankversenyre
[The effect of the crisis on bank competition in Hungary]

Abstract

A 2008 őszén Magyarországot is elérő pénzügyi-gazdasági válság súlyosan érintette a bankszektort. A kedvezőtlen hatásokat kezdetben felerősítette a nyugat-európai kormányok protekcionista politikája, ami hátrányos versenyfeltételeket teremtett a kelet-közép-európai térségben működő leánybankok számára. A cikk középpontjában annak vizsgálata áll, hogyan hatott a válság, illetve a válságkezelés a bankok viselkedésére és versenyére. Az elemzés megmutatja, hogy a válság nem egyformán érintette a bankok pénzügyi és piaci pozícióit, és alkalmazkodásuk módozatai is eltértek egymástól. A bankok versenyhelyzetét a kormányzat és a tulajdonosok válságkezelő intézkedései is befolyásolták. A hitelpiac bővülését várhatóan a válságra adott tulajdonosi és szabályozói reakciók - a kockázatérzékenység erősödése és a tőkekövetelmények növekedése - fékezik. A felvásárlások és piacelhagyások a magyar bankpiacon is növelhetik a koncentrációt, de ez nem feltétlenül gyengíti a versenyt. Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) kód: G01, G21, H81, L11.
