Desarrollo humano y crecimiento económico y en los municipios metropolitanos del valle de México

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene la finalidad de medir el impacto que tiene el desarrollo humano en el crecimiento económico de los 59 municipios metropolitanos del Estado de México, que limitan con la Ciudad de México (CDMX), y forman parte de la Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México (ZMVM). El desarrollo humano se analiza con el Índice de Desarrollo Humano (IDH) y en el crecimiento económico, a través del Producto Interno Bruto Municipal (PIBM). La metodología utilizada es un análisis de datos en panel también llamados longitudinales, debido a que aprovecha la variabilidad transversal y temporal de los datos en sus dos modelos de análisis, efectos fijos y efectos aleatorios, considerando que solo se tienen datos del 2000, 2005 y 2010 para el IDH, indicadores de pobreza, indicador de desigualdad y el PIBM estimado por el PIB estatal con ponderación municipal. Los resultados obtenidos expresan que el crecimiento económico municipal está en relación directa con el avance educativo y el nivel de ingreso. Además, un aumento en la producción de bienes y servicio influye de manera favorable en el desarrollo humano y tiene un efecto positivo en la mejora de las condiciones de vida de la población. Si el IDH aumenta en una unidad de valor, la producción de bienes y servicios también aumentará, debido al mejor desempeño de las capacidades de la población considerando que tiene salud, educación y un mejor nivel de ingreso.
