Strategies for Enhancing Innovative Behavior and Entrepreneurial Intent in Entrepreneurship Education

Abstract

Entrepreneurial intention is a crucial prerequisite for aspiring entrepreneurs looking to establish new ventures, and today's college students represent the potential entrepreneurs of the future. Enhancing students' willingness to engage in entrepreneurship is a vital area of focus for numerous scholars. This study aims to explore how prior innovative behavior among college students influences their entrepreneurial intentions through a social psychology lens. Data collected from a vocational college in China reveal that students' past innovative behaviors promote a state of flow, which subsequently impacts their entrepreneurial intentions. Our empirical findings contribute to the understanding of the factors influencing college students' entrepreneurial intentions, enrich the literature on flow in entrepreneurship, and offer practical recommendations for entrepreneurship education.
