Abstract

In this study, acetone and ammonium carbonate assisted hydrothermal pretreatment was applied to the biomass for the co-production of nitrogenous compounds porous carbon and carbon dots (CDs). Subsequently, the formation process of regenerated products was investigated in detail. The nitrogen content of the regenerated products generated from lignin reached 6.17 %, and the relative content of nitrogen-containing compounds in pyrolysis liquid products reached 69.78 %. In addition, a nitrogen containing fused tricyclic compound was synthesized with a relative content of 24.82 % in bio-oil. The porous carbon obtained from cellulose-rich residue can serve as an available candidate for supercapacitor electrode that exhibited a gravimetric specific capacitance of 338.31 F/g at 1 A/g. The CDs extracted from the hydrothermal solution were utilized for LED packaging, resulting in a yellow luminescence with CIE coordinates of (0.52, 0.43) and a CRI of 83. This study explored a pathway for the worthy products from biomass.
