Abstract

In a crossed atomic beam apparatus measurements on the glory structure in the total cross section for scattering of Ne and Ar by Ar, Kr and Xe have been performed for relative velocities ranging from 650 to 3700 m/s. By measuring the systems Ar-Kr and Kr-Ar over the aforementioned velocity range a check on the internal consistency of the results is obtained. The results for the various systems are compared with cross sections calculated from interatomic potentials proposed in the literature.
