Abstract

This paper selects panel data from 2008 to 2023 at the prefecture-level city in China as a research sample to examine the relationship among Digital Government Governance (DGG), Financial Technology (FinTech), and regional digital economy development. The study finds: First, there is a significant positive correlation between DGG and regional digital economy development. Second, the positive impact of DGG on regional digital economy development is more pronounced in regions with high technological innovation investment. Third, FinTech plays a mediating role in the relationship between DGG and regional digital economy development, and this mediating effect is significant in regions with high financial aggregation, while it is not significant in regions with low financial aggregation.
