Financial support, robot penetration rate, and the technological complexity of manufacturing exports

Abstract

This study uses data from Chinese A-share manufacturing companies between 2013 and 2023 to empirically examine the relationship between financial support, robot penetration rate, and the technological complexity of export products through regression analysis. The findings indicate that financial support significantly enhances the technological complexity of manufacturing exports. Meanwhile, both robot penetration rate and firm size play significant moderating roles in the relationship between financial support and the technological complexity of exports. Further analysis of the moderating heterogeneity reveals that the moderating effect of robot penetration rate varies among companies in different regions, and similarly, the moderating effect of firm size also exhibits heterogeneity across different regions.
