Optimization of business environment, supply chain finance, and industrial chain resilience

Abstract

This study utilizes panel data from 31 provincial-level administrative regions in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) spanning the period from 2011 to 2023 to empirically examine how an optimized business environment and supply chain finance influence industrial chain resilience. The results indicate that both business environment optimization and supply chain finance significantly enhance regional industrial chain resilience. Furthermore, foreign direct investment (FDI) plays a mediating role in the relationship between business environment optimization and industrial chain resilience. The impact of business environment optimization on regional industrial chain resilience exhibits heterogeneity between areas of high and low population density, and the influence of supply chain finance on regional industrial chain resilience also varies across different regions.
