Abstract

This paper takes the 2018 "Supply Chain Innovation and Application Pilot" policy as a quasi-natural experiment and selects data from Chinese A-share listed companies from 2013 to 2023. It employs the Difference-in-Differences (DID) method to empirically examine the policy's impact on firms' Total Factor Productivity (TFP). The study finds that: firstly, the policy significantly enhances firms' TFP; secondly, firms' organizational capabilities play a partial mediating role in the policy's impact, with pilot firms experiencing improved organizational coordination and resource allocation efficiency after policy implementation, thereby indirectly driving TFP growth; thirdly, the policy's promotional effect on TFP is significantly stronger for private firms than for state-owned firms.
