Abstract

This study relies on a panel dataset of China's A-share listed companies from 2009 to 2023 to empirically examine the mechanisms through which CEO power intensity, patient capital investment, and corporate green technology innovation performance interact. The findings reveal that CEO power intensity significantly enhances green technology innovation performance. Patient capital investment positively motivates green innovation performance. Additionally, CEO power intensity plays a crucial moderating role in the relationship between patient capital investment and corporate green innovation performance. Furthermore, the impact of CEO power intensity on green innovation performance exhibits significant heterogeneity between state-owned and private enterprises.
