Abstract
In this interdisciplinary article, we propose to analyze how artificial intelligence (AI) influences our relationship with the world and more specifically our ways of learning. Our combined experiences in higher education lead us to emphasize the consequences and limitations of AI, which insidiously takes up more and more space in our lives and professional practices. What is the purpose of education and why this enthusiasm for AI to the point where it has truly become an actor in education? To go further, we will question how AI differs from overall intelligence. What will be the role of Les Cahiers du CEDIMES 2024, Volume 19, Numéro 1, https://doi.org/10.69611/cahiers19-1-12 ISSN 2110-6045 153 intelligence, as we have defined it for more than a century? How can we envision the paradigm shift from "enhanced human" versus "human being" without risking a total rupture with our millennial history? Considering that one of the essential characteristics of AI is its ability to "reason" and make decisions based on the data it has integrated, we question the potential pitfalls of this technology that is already being imposed on us, highlighting the different types of risks regarding privacy protection, security, and ethics.
