¿Hay restricción externa del crecimiento en Colombia de 1925 a 2000?

Abstract

Con base en el modelo de crecimiento económico restringido por la balanza de pagos se busca comprobar la validez empírica de la regla simple en Colombia en el períod0o 1925-2000. Dado que no se encuentra una relación estable de largo plazo, o vector de cointegración, entre el PIB y las exportaciones para este período, se analizan las hipótesis simplificadoras de la regla simple y se muestran las posibles prolongaciones del modelo. Por último se abren nuevas hipótesis de investigación, a partir de la existencia de una ruptura estructural en la economía colombiana a mediados de la década del setenta, como lo plantean otros estudios que en una perspectiva de largo plazo analizan el avance de la industrialización y la evolución de la productividad.
