Investments Clearly on Growth Path – Leasing Climate Improves Significantly

Abstract

According to the investment indicator based on leasing companies’ assessments of their current business situation, which is jointly compiled by the Ifo Institute and the Federation of German Leasing Companies (BDI), 2014 will see a sharp 6.3% increase in investment in equipment, including other facilities, after last year’s 1.7% drop. Although this does not represent a return to its pre-crisis level, the latter is nevertheless now in sight; and the investment rate for equipment investment in Germany should rise once again after the decreases of 2012 and 2013.
