Abstract

Depuis 1984, l’OFCE développe un modèle macroéconomique trimestriel sur l’économie française, utilisé pour des analyses de politique économique et des scénarios de prévision à court et moyen terme. Ce modèle a évolué, intégrant les développements récents aussi bien théoriques qu’économétriques. Il a été simplifié et réestimé à partir des données de comptabilité nationale en base 95. MOSAIQUE est ainsi devenu e-mod.fr (economic-model.france). Le modèle est construit à partir de l’hypothèse d’un fonctionnement néo-keynésien de l’économie. En période de sous-utilisation des capacités de production, la demande globale contraint l’offre et détermine à court terme l’activité. Cependant, le niveau de l’activité rétroagit sur les prix et, par ricochet, sur les comportements de demande. Nous resituons les équations de comportement dans les travaux récents de recherche, en insistant sur celui des administrations publiques. Nous décrivons aussi comment nous avons résolu quelques problèmes pratiques rencontrés par tout modélisateur : méthodes d’estimation, propriétés de long terme du modèle, autocorrélation, choix des cales.
