Abstract

La sur éducation a fait l'objet en France d'estimations qui reposent sur des mesures distinctes du déclassement. Ces mesures donnent des résultats très différents. Parallèlement, plusieurs auteurs ont mis en évidence une dévalorisation des diplômes. Cet article propose une association des trois normes de déclassement les plus utilisées intégrant la dévalorisation et prenant en compte des différences entre spécialités et filières. La confrontation des normes conduit à un taux de déclassement très inférieur à celui des nombreuses investigations qui concluent à un déclassement massif. L'article propose également une analyse théorique et historique des différentes normes et des causes et conséquences de la hausse des niveaux d'éducation et de son corollaire, le déclassement. Il est suggéré notamment que la sur éducation de court terme peut avoir des effets bénéfiques sur la compétitivité internationale à long terme
