Abstract

Dans la littérature économique, les nombreuses analogies entre la théorie monétaire et la politique éducative nous conduisent à transposer le modèle de Dornbusch (1976) à un contexte d’inflation des diplômes. En supposant les compétences requises pour l’emploi rigides à court terme, nous montrons un important déclassement et un surajustement des pertes salariales à l’embauche. Au terme du processus de scolarisation, les nouvelles cohortes de diplômés, malgré un niveau de formation initial plus important et de meilleures perspectives de rémunération, rencontrent paradoxalement, et en comparaison avec les générations qui les précèdent, un niveau de déclassement de longue période bien supérieur.
