Fehlzeitenreport 2011. Krankheits- und unfallbedingte Fehlzeiten in Österreich

Abstract

Der Fehlzeitenreport 2011 gibt wie die früheren Berichte des WIFO einen breiten Überblick über das Krankenstandgeschehen in Österreich. Die unselbständig Beschäftigten waren in Österreich im Jahresverlauf 2010 durchschnittlich 12,9 Tage im Krankenstand, dieser Wert entspricht einer Krankenstandsquote von 3,5%. Erstmals lag die Quote der Männer mit 3,5% geringfügig unter jener der Frauen (3,6%). Den Schwerpunkt des Berichts bildet eine Untersuchung des Zusammenhangs zwischen dem Krankenstandsgeschehen und dem krankheitsbedingten frühzeitigen Austritt aus dem Erwerbsleben. Personen mit einem Neuzugang in die Invaliditätspension sind bereits in einer mittel- bis längerfristigen Betrachtungsperiode überdurchschnittlich oft krank. Der gesundheitliche Unterschied gegenüber den Arbeitskräften, die keine Invaliditätspension erhalten, nimmt über die Zeit schrittweise und im Jahr vor dem Pensionsantritt stark zu. Das Krankenstandsgeschehen ist ein nützlicher Frühwarnindikator für das Invaliditätsrisiko der Erwerbspersonen; das gilt insbesondere für längere Krankenstandsepisoden und für solche, die durch eine psychische Erkrankung verursacht werden.
