Mittelfristprojektion im Frühjahr 2023: Wachstumspfad flacht sich merklich ab

Abstract

Das Wachstum der Produktionspotenzials flacht sich weiter ab und dürfte am Ende des Projektionszeitraums 2027 nur noch rund 0,4 Prozent betragen. Damit läge das Potenzialwachstum fast einen Prozentpunkt unter seinem langjährigen Durchschnitt. Diese Entwicklung ist maßgeblich vom demografischen Wandel getrieben. Im kommenden Jahr dürfte die Bevölkerung im erwerbsfähigen Alter ihren Zenit erreichen und im Anschluss einen negativen Trend einschlagen. Zusätzlich haben die Coronapandemie und die mittelfristig höheren Energiepreise das Wachstum deutlich belastet. Dennoch dürfte die Wirtschaftsleistung im laufenden Jahr weiterhin deutlich unter Potenzial liegen (Produktionslücke: rund -1,1 Prozent). Erst 2025 rechnen wir mit einer leichten Überauslastung der gesamtwirtschaftlichen Kapazität (Produktionslücke: rund +0,5 Prozent). Die gesamtwirtschaftliche Kapazität dürfte somit so lang wie noch nie unterausgelastet bleiben.
