The proof is in the pudding: workers care about evidence-based diversity cues, not about value-based diversity cues

Abstract

Many organizations are making use of various types of diversity cues to manage and retain diverse talents. To examine whether these cues indeed contribute to organizations’ diversity and inclusion (D&I) objectives or whether they can also endanger them, this paper examines how value-based and evidence-based diversity cues affect the company perceptions and work experiences of internal stakeholders.
