Abstract

El método Alkire Foster para la medición multidimensional de pobreza ha sido utilizado por los formuladores de políticas en países de todo el mundo para crear medidas nacionales de pobreza y bien-estar. En ese sentido, el presente documento tiene como objetivo mostrar brevemente las bases sobre las cuales se contruye el Indice de Pobreza Multidimensional y cuales son sus ventajas respecto a otras metodologias y como desde allí se contribuye al diseño, monitoreo, evaluación ex ante, intermedia, post y ex post de politicas publicas.
