Abstract

"Young unemployed who live with a partner or children are normally less flexible than young singles. The temporal and regional restrictions concern participation in active labour market programmes as well as future employment. Hence, it is one influencing factor for the employment effects of active labour market schemes if programme participation can be arranged with partnership and child care. The study examines which programmes are best to bring 18- to 30-year-old recipients of unemployment benefit II (Arbeitslosengeld II) into regular employment - in particular when they live with a partner or children."
