Subscription to health insurance in Kinshasa: Case of households in the commune of Gombe

Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the factors associated with subscription to the health insurance product in the city of Kinshasa, and more precisely by households in the commune of Gombe. To achieve this objective, the logistic regression model was used on a sample of 284 individuals. The results reveal that the level of income, the perceived level of the premium, trust placed in insurance companies, knowledge of health insurance, religion, level of education, membership in a mutual health insurance as well as marital status are the factors associated with the subscription to the insurance product by households in the commune of Gombe.
