¿Discriminación laboral o capital humano? Determinantes del ingreso laboral

Abstract

En este trabajo se estiman las diferencias en el ingreso laboral de los cartageneros que son atribuidas a la raza y etnia. Las diferencias se descomponen en dos causas. Por el efecto de las dotaciones y por el de la remuneración a las dotaciones. Los afrocartageneros ganan menos porque tienen menos anos de escolaridad -como se sabe, durante la colonia fueron excluidos de oportunidades económicas, políticas y sociales-. El segundo factor está más cerca de la idea de discriminación, pero es el menos preponderante.
