In: Hochschulen und ihr Beitrag für eine nachhaltige Regionalentwicklung

Abstract

In diesem Beitrag wird das Wirkungsgeflecht zwischen Hochschulen und ihren Standortregionen beschrieben und Schlussfolgerungen über die Bedeutung einzelner Transferkanäle, Determinanten und Transferhemmnisse werden abgeleitet. Dazu erfolgt zunächst die Darstellung von Transferkanälen, über die eine Hochschule ihr regionales Umfeld erreichen kann. Es wird aufgezeigt, dass Ausmaß und Qualität der Transfererfolge von diversen Einflussfaktoren abhängen, beispielsweise von hochschulseitigen Determinanten, die Intensität und Ausmaß des Transfererfolges mitbestimmen. Zusätzlich beeinflussen regionsseitige Determinanten die Kapazität, mit der eine Region als Transferempfänger die hochschulseitigen Transfereffekte aufnehmen und in Wohlfahrtseffekte und wirtschaftliches Wachstum umzusetzen vermag. Weiterhin werden exemplarische Hemmnisse diskutiert, die den Transfer aus Hochschulen erschweren. Zum Abschluss gibt der Beitrag einen Ausblick auf weiteren Forschungsbedarf.
