Abstract

The book “Еconomic development and policies – realities and prospects” is a collection of articles from the Jubilee International Scientific Conference, organised by the Economic Research Institute at BAS, held on November 21-22, 2019 in Sofia. The Academic Forum is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Institute, which coincides with the celebration of 150 years since the foundation of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and is part of the series of traditional annual scientific conferences held by the Institute. The scientific articles included in the collection reflect the achievements of the participants in realized scientific and applied projects related to the contemporary tendencies and challenges in the development of economic theory and practice. They are arranged in five thematic areas: macroeconomic dimensions of economic development; economic and financial integration in the EU and participation in the global economy; labour market and social policies; regional and sectoral development, ecology and sustainable development; the company of the 21st century.
