Abstract

This study explores the intricate relationship between Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the entrepreneurship ecosystem (EE), emphasizing the variations in this dynamic across different income levels. By integrating SDGs with entrepreneurial framework conditions (EFC) and entrepreneurial behavior and attitudes (EBA), the research identifies the key predictors of EFC and EBA globally. The analysis reveals that specific SDGs, such as Goals 4, 14, 15, 5, and 9, significantly influence the entrepreneurial environment. The impact of these goals varies significantly across income levels; high‐income countries prioritize climate action and urban sustainability, while upper‐middle and lower‐income countries focus on food security, institutional stability, and economic growth. The study bridges multiple theoretical frameworks: Schumpeter's Theory of Economic Development, Institutional Theory, and the Resource‐Based View, demonstrating that SDGs are integral to shaping the entrepreneurial landscape. Practical implications highlight actionable insights for policymakers to enhance the EE by aligning it with relevant SDGs, tailored to the economic context of each country. This comprehensive approach provides a robust foundation for fostering entrepreneurship aligned with sustainable development goals, ultimately driving economic growth and promoting inclusive and sustainable development.
