The Role of Competition Policy in the Fight against Inflation
Competition policy has a positive medium to long-run effect on innovation, growth and employment. In the short run, however, its effectiveness in the fight against inflation is quite limited. Four sets of subject-specific reform measures elaborated by WIFO illustrate the range of effects to be achieved through a growth-oriented competition policy.
