Science, technology and the state in Singapore: An overview, evaluation and comparison

Abstract

This paper traces the development of science and technology in Singapore from an historical perspective. Such science and technology policies underpin the state's role in its industrial transformation from an entrepôt economy to one with manufacturing and services as the engines of growth.
