Talent Management and Organizational Citizenship Behavior in a Developing Market: an Analysis of the Indian Telecommunications Sector

Abstract

In the period of intensive global integration and competition, organizations around the globe have recognized the importance of knowledge, skills, abilities, and desired behaviors as a major input for competitive advantage. Therefore, this study examined the relationship between talent management, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), and organizational performance (OP) in a sample of employees from various organizations. A survey questionnaire was used to collect data from 220 respondents, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and ANOVA. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between talent management, OCB, and OP. Furthermore, talent management, OCB, and their interaction significantly predicted OP. These findings have both theoretical and managerial implications for organizations. The study also has some limitations, such as the use of self-reported data and a cross-sectional design, which suggest avenues for future research.
