Abstract

This essay tries to put together the Schumpeterian conceptions of history of facts and of history of analysis. Analysis progresses from "new departure" into "classical situation" ; the "new departure", a theoretical break, would have the same status as the generative innovation of the ascending stage of the Kondratieff cycle; the "classical situation", an expression of a theoretical consensus, would be the counterpart of a state on which innovation has produced all its effects. But putting them together does not lead to a mere statement of a single parallelism; it goes beyond to reveal a relation of causality.
