Appréciation de la performance hospitalière des hôpitaux publics au Cameroun

Abstract

Cette étude vise à comprendre quels sont les critères qui participent à la perception par le personnel de la santé de la performance des hôpitaux publics au Cameroun. L’Analyse en Composantes Principales (ACP) a été utilisée sur les données recueillies par questionnaire auprès de 53 hôpitaux publics au Cameroun. L’ACP a permis d’identifier d’une part, les composantes de mesure de la performance des hôpitaux publics, et d’autre part, à construire un indice performance qui permettrait d’évaluer l’efficacité des hôpitaux publics en matière de performance au Cameroun. Après analyse des données par cette technique, deux constats ont été faits. Premièrement, il ressort que la performance hospitalière dans les hôpitaux publics au Cameroun est appréciée via trois déterminants. Il s’agit de l’atteinte des buts, de la qualité de prise en charge et l’adaptation aux besoins de la population. Deuxièmement, on constate que la performance des hôpitaux publics au Cameroun est de moindre qualité. En effet, seulement 48% des hôpitaux semblent remplir les critères de bonne performance hospitalière.
