Dimensione e offerta funzionale nella crescita urbana. Alcune evidenze nel periodo 2001-2011

Abstract

In Italia, le citt? piccole e medie ospitano una larga parte della popolazione e delle opportunit? di lavoro e rappresentano dei veri e propri motori di sviluppo locale e regionale. Il lavoro analizza la dinamica economica sperimentata dai sistemi urbani di piccola e media dimensione nel decennio 2001-2011, indagando se la presenza di funzioni specializzate possa aver agito come sostituto della scala metropolitana. Le aree funzionali urbane italiane (fua) sono prima classificate secondo un indice sintetico di rango urbano e, successivamente, utilizzate per un?analisi di regressione, mirata a identificare i driver della crescita urbana.
