Abstract

This study aims to analyze and determine the water quality status of the Laeya River for the provision of raw water in South Konawe Regency. This research was conducted in South Konawe Regency during 2022, using one method, namely the Pollution Index method. The Pollution Index method is used to determine the level of pollution from the Laeya River for the provision of raw water in South Konawe Regency. The results showed that the Laeya River at Station-I, Station-II, and Station-III obtained Pollution Index values of 2.511, 3.768, and 2.963, of the three stations whose parameters were analyzed, all of them met the quality standards except Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and Total of Coliform at Station-I. TSS, Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), COD and Total of Coliform at Station-II, and TSS, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), BOD, COD, Detergent and Total of Coliform at Station-III, so that the water quality status of the Laeya River belonged to the classification of mild contaminants for Station-I, Station-II, and Station-III.
