Financing green resource generation in sub-saharan Africa: Does financial integration matter?

Abstract

This paper looks at 18 countries in sub-Saharan Africa from 1985 to 2019 to see if any patterns may be used to increase the capacity factor of green resources, especially by focusing on the role of financial markets and financial integration. The empirical results using a dynamic panel model, indicate that initiatives to promote economic growth should improve the capacity factor of green resources in Africa. Decomposing the associated with managing indicators into its de-reality and judicial decision components reveals a similar but more pronounced long-term impact. Parametric logistic regression further demonstrates that the impact of financial integration on green energy capacity is good but inconsistent throughout the regression line of some green resources. Ultimately, the data shows a good relationship between growth and the ability to generate renewable resources, whereas a poor correlation exists between economic literacy and renewable energy resources.
