Abstract

transformation, regenerative tourism, as a new concept that transcends sustainable tourism, has gradually become the focus of attention in academia and policy-making. This paper empirically examines the relationship between blockchain, financial incentives, and regenerative tourism using panel data from 31 provinces in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) from 2011 to 2023. The results indicate that blockchain can significantly promote the development of regenerative tourism, a conclusion supported by various robustness tests and endogeneity analyses. The synergistic effect of financial incentives and blockchain has a significant positive impact on regenerative tourism. In heterogeneity analysis, the impact of blockchain on regenerative tourism is more pronounced in provinces with stricter environmental regulations and lower levels of innovation. The conclusion of this paper not only expands the research perspective on regenerative tourism but also provides empirical evidence for relevant policy formulation.
