The impact of ESG performance on firm value in the Chinese market

Abstract

This article examines the ESG performance and firm value of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2011 to 2022, finding a significant positive impact, particularly for non-state-owned and polluting enterprises, mediated by corporate reputation and innovation.
