Author

Abstract

Intellectualization of manufacturing firms is crucial for facilitating the seamless integration of China's digital and real economies while achieving high-quality growth in the manufacturing industry. This study found that smart transformation significantly improved manufacturing firms’ value chain upgrades based on a sample of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2011 to 2022. This impact operates primarily by optimizing human resources and improving total factor productivity effects.
