Abstract

Generative artificial intelligence is a game changer in higher education, offering students and faculty innovative tools for learning and content creation. Capable of generating text, images, and other media in response to user requests, GenAI has become a central topic of discussion due to its potential to enhance personalized learning experiences while raising important questions of ethics and academic integrity. Our study focuses on students enrolled at the Higher Institute of Information and Communication (ISIC) in Rabat. It aims to examine their relationship with GenAI in the academic sphere. The ISIC has shifted its focus toward training student journalists, based on digital literacy. Between the personalization of learning, algorithmic bias, misinformation, and academic dishonesty, understanding journalism students' perceptions of generative AI, as well as its benefits and challenges, is essential for effective integration into their educational framework.
