The State of the World Economy and the German Economy in Spring 2003

Abstract

Am 15. April stellten die sechs Wirtschaftsforschungsinstitute in Berlin ihr Frühjahrsgutachten der Presse vor. Sie kamen zu der Ansicht, dass sich die Weltkonjunktur in einer Schwächephase befindet. Mit der Eskalation des Irak-Konflikts und der damit zunehmenden weltweiten Unsicherheit über die wirtschaftliche und geopolitische Entwicklung ist die konjunkturelle Erholung erneut ins Stocken geraten. In nahezu allen Industrieländern, aber auch in den Schwellenländern und in Mittel- und Osteuropa hat sich die Zunahme des realen Bruttoinlandsprodukts im Winterhalbjahr wieder abgeschwächt. In den USA wurde diese Grundtendenz durch die Aufwendungen für den Irak-Krieg überlagert.
