Abstract

In diesem Artikel erörtern Gabriel Felbermayr und Holger Görg die weltwirtschaftlichen Implikationen der Covid-19-Pandemie. Ausgehend von der Beobachtung, dass sich die Globalisierung in den zurückliegenden zehn Jahren merklich verlangsamt hat, stellen sie dar, wie sich die Covid-19-Pandemie auf China – das Herzstück vieler globaler Wertschöpfungsketten – auswirkt und welche Folgen dies wiederum für andere Länder in der Kette hat – insbesondere auch Deutschland. Es folgt eine Diskussion darüber, ob und wie die Globalisierung resilienter gestaltet werden kann. Der Artikel schließt mit wirtschaftspolitischen Empfehlungen.
