Estimación del PBI potencial para los países de la Alianza del Pacífico:1961-2020

Abstract

El PBI potencial mide el crecimiento sostenido que puede alcanzar una economía en el largo plazo a través del uso eficiente de los factores de producción. En particular, si analizamos el PBI potencial de los países del bloque de la Alianza del Pacífico (Chile, Colombia, México y Perú estas se han venido moderando en los últimos años, asociado a factores estructurales como el estancamiento en las ganancias de competitividad y productividad, y factores cíclicos que en cierta medida están influenciados por desequilibrios económicos. Sumado a ello, la expansión del COVID-19 a nivel mundial exacerbaría aún más el deterioro del crecimiento del PBI potencial de los países de la Alianza del Pacifico en 2020. En ese sentido, el objetivo de esta investigación es estimar el PBI potencial a través de la metodología de función de producción, la cual nos permitirá analizar la dinámica del crecimiento potencial a través de sus componentes i) stock de capital, ii) fuerza laboral, y iii) productividad total de factores.
