Abstract
Marnotrawstwo żywności stanowi jedno z istotnych wyzwań współczesnych systemów gospodarczych, generując straty ekonomiczne, społeczne i środowiskowe oraz ujawniając ograniczenia mechanizmu rynkowego w efektywnym wykorzystaniu zasobów. Celem artykułu jest teoretyczna analiza i uporządkowanie sposobów ujmowania marnotrawstwa żywności w głównych nurtach ekonomii: klasycznej i neoklasycznej, ekonomii dobrobytu, teorii wyboru publicznego, ekonomii instytucjonalnej, behawioralnej oraz ekologicznej. Artykuł ma charakter przeglądowy i koncepcyjny, identyfikuje kluczowe mechanizmy ekonomiczne prowadzące do strat żywności oraz analizuje konsekwencje ich ograniczania, w tym w ujęciu równowagi ogólnej. Wyniki przeglądu wskazują, że marnotrawstwo żywności jest trwałym elementem funkcjonowania systemów rolno-żywnościowych, wynikającym z relacji cenowych, uwarunkowań instytucjonalnych i behawioralnych oraz kosztów środowiskowych. Analiza w perspektywie równowagi ogólnej ujawnia, że redukcja strat może generować zróżnicowane efekty dochodowe i strukturalne, w tym odmienne konsekwencje dla konsumentów i producentów rolnych w skali krajowej i globalnej. Przeprowadzona analiza wskazuje na potrzebę podejścia interdyscyplinarnego, łączącego elementy różnych nurtów ekonomii, jako warunku skuteczniejszego rozumienia i ograniczania marnotrawstwa żywności.
