Antimuslimischer Rassismus: Ein neues "Phänomen"?

Abstract

Dieser Beitrag geht der Frage nach, ob es sich bei antimuslimischem Rassismus um ein neues Phänomen handelt undob sich Konstrukte die sich in der Rassismusforschung bewährthabendazueignen auch diesen zu erklären. Vor dem Hintergrund einer langen Traditionslinie anti-muslimischer Ressentiments zeigt sich, dass diese keinesfalls neu sind. Der aktuelle Rassismusgegen Menschen (vermeintlich) muslimischen Glaubens greift tradierte Islambilder auf, indem er diese von jenen der westlichen Welt abgrenzt. Dies wird auch als Neo-Rassismus bezeichnet, welcher sich als Rassismus ohne Rassen konstituiert und die Unvereinbarkeit der Kulturenbehauptet. Auch dieser arbeitet mit Stigmatisierungen. Es verschiebt sich demnach der Anknüpfungspunkt des Rassismus.Im Zuge dieser konzeptionellen Verschiebung stelltsich die Frage, inwieweit die in der empirischen Rassismusforschung bewährten erklärenden Variablen für biologistischen Rassismus sich auch zur Erklärung eines antimuslimischen Rassismus im Sinne eines Neo-Rassismus eignen. Dies wird mit hilfe von multiplen Regressionenauf Daten des ALLBUS 2012 getestet. Dabei bewähren sich die aus der Empirie entnommenen Erklärungen nahezu vollständig bei der Erklärung des antimuslimischen Rassismus, wenngleich sich geringe Abweichungen zeigen und die Varianzaufklärung geringer ausfällt. Zwei Strukturgleichungsmodelle bestätigen dies.Dennoch lassen sich Unterschiede zwischen beiden Rassismen finden - zum Beispiel hinsichtlichder weniger starken Rolle des Autoritarismusundder stärkeren Rolle des Alters im Modell für den antimuslimischen Rassismus.
