Zum Zusammenhang zwischen Gründungen und regionaler Entwicklung

Abstract

Der Beitrag behandelt den Einfluss des Gründungsgeschehens auf die regionale Entwicklung. Viele dieser Wirkungen sind indirekter Natur und müssen sich nicht notwendig in der Region niederschlagen, in der die Gründung stattfand. Empirische Analysen für westdeutsche Regionen zeigen, dass nur für die Entwicklung in den 1990er Jahren ein positiver Zusammenhang mit dem Gründungsgeschehen ermittelt werden kann. Für die 1980er Jahre zeigt sich ein solcher Zusammenhang nicht. Dabei ergeben sich Hinweise darauf, dass die wesentlichen Wirkungen des Gründungsgeschehens langfristiger Natur sind. Ein Vergleich mit Ostdeutschland zeigt einen deutlich stärkeren Einfluss der Gründungen auf die Regionalentwicklung als in Westdeutschland.
