Abstract

Der Zustand der Waldböden hat begonnen, sich seit der ersten Bodenzustandserhebung (BZE I) in den 1990er Jahren langsam zu erholen. Ursache hierfür ist in erster Linie die Minderung der atmosphärischen Einträge insbesondere von Schwefel (S) und Blei (Pb) im Rahmen der grenzüberschreitenden Maßnahmen zur Luftreinhaltung. Zudem sind viele Böden aus Gründen des Bodenschutzes gekalkt worden und in den letzten 20 Jahren hat ein Umbau von Nadelwald-Reinbeständen zu Laub- und Mischbeständen stattgefunden. Beide Maßnahmen haben ebenfalls insgesamt positive Wirkungen auf den Waldboden. Basis für die Auswertungen der BZE waren deutschlandweit 1.900 Inventurpunkte. Die Außenaufnahmen der zweiten Bodenzustandserhebung (BZE II) fand von 2006 bis 2008, die Analytik von 2009 bis 2010 statt. [...]
