Comeback Deutschland? Industrie-Turnarounds und was wir von ihnen lernen können

Abstract

Kann ein Comeback der deutschen Industrie gelingen? In den 2000er Jahren war Deutschland noch Exportweltmeister, mittlerweile fällt es im Vergleich zu China zurück, insbesondere im Automobilsektor und im Maschinenbau. Ist ein Turnaround möglich und wenn ja, unter welchen Bedingungen? Im Folgenden betrachten wir drei historische Fallstudien ehemals führender Industrien, die zurückgefallen sind und einen Turnaround versucht haben: Schiffbau in Südkorea, Automobil in den USA und Stahl in Schweden. In keiner der drei Fallstudien gelingt der vollständige Turnaround, das Wiedererlangen der alten Marktposition.
