Abstract

(Disponible en Inglés únicamente) La transición a una estrategia de desarrollo impulsada por el mercado en América Latina durante más de una década ha redefinido las estrategias de negocios de las empresas y ha remodelado el papel tradicional del Estado como garante del empleo, la estabilidad y la protección. Estos cambios, además de la iniciativa de crear mercados laborales más flexibles en algunos países, han conducido a la eliminación o reducción de dispositivos legislados de protección del empleo y sus prestaciones, lo que ha abierto espacios para que los sindicatos aumenten su papel en la negociación colectiva.
